One of the best parts about the summer time for me is all of the fun we have with family.

Whether it is hanging out doing everyday fun things...

Celebrating the men and women who serve our country at Amerifest at our church....

Enjoying time with out of town grandparents....

Or celebrating an upcoming wedding with my new sister in-law to be

It is just so easy to find joy in the fun that comes with summer.

Child Dedication

At church on Sunday we dedicated Joshua. How we explained it to Casey was that we were going to stand in front of church and promise to do our best as parents (and big brothers) to teach Joshua all there is to know about Jesus. Casey and Caleb did a great job on stage, we were so proud of all our little men.

Our Pledge

We, the parents, commit our child into the loving hands of our eternal Father. To Him be all praise and thanks for the privilege of parenthood, however short or long, however joyous or trying. We desire, by the grace of God, to bring up this little one in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. May our child, like Christ Himself, grow in wisdom and in stature and in the favor of God and men.

Summer Fun!

We thought it would be fun to make a poster of fun things we would like to do this summer (thanks for the idea Gretchen!)

The first thing we did off the list was go to the Chocolate Factory for ice cream on Father's Day.

On a rainy summer day we spent the day at Jump Zone with Nana, Buppa, Summer and Dylan. I'm pretty sure Caleb's favorite part was playing with Summer, although this slushy is a close second!

This pirate ship made us think of our buddy Eli who had just had a pirate party.

Casey's first sport...soccer! We signed him up through the Waukesha recreation department.

Hannah and Riley are also signed up.

Haley and Caleb enjoy playing on the sidelines together during practice.

Brothers and Best Buds

Ragnar Relay

This past weekend Matt participated in the Ragnar relay from Madison to Chicago. I believe the race was about 200 miles total split up among 11 runners on his team. Each guy ran 3 or 4 times. Matt ran about 23 miles total. They left Madison at about noon on Friday and arrived in Chicao late in the afternoon.

Casey finished up K4 this week. He is really looking forward to starting kindergarten in the fall. For now though we are going to enjoy summer vacation!

Staying Cool in the Pool

Today was the first day we used our "big pool" as Casey likes to call it. We had a blast and kept cool on this hot summer day!

This summer I am hoping to get at least 3 things checked off this list; Great America, Washington Island and possibly Little Amerika.

A little bit of pink...

Last week we had two very special house guests....Auntie Nikki and cousin Makena from Vegas! It was so fun to have a little girl in our house.

Here she is...princess Makena!

Caleb was a bit much for her sometimes. He couldn't keep his hands off of her!

Makena turns one at the end of the month so we had a little birthday celebration for her.
