Family Friday

Some of the best times we have as a family are the ones that weren't planned.  Last Friday night our plan was to eat pizza and watch a movie.  The weather in WI has been so warm and beautiful so that afternoon we decided to change our plans.

When Matt got home from work we piled into the Van and went of for a Friday night fish fry.  This is something both of us enjoy.  The boys were great, ate up their meals and got Popsicles for dessert.

When we got home we decided to let the boys ride their bikes across the street at Casey's school.  There is a huge open playground area that is perfect for this.  Matt taught the boys a new trick, riding their bikes down the grassy hill.  I was a little nervous as I watched from a distance.  So much so that I forgot to keep my eye on Joshua who decided to eat a wood chip....yuck!

For those of you who know me well, you know that I do best on a schedule (as does Casey).  My adventurous husband has taught me the fun in flying by the seat of my pants.  I am so blessed to have Matt as my partner in raising these boys.  I have a feeling that there are going to be many adventures in our future.  When I came up with the title of our blog BUNTROCK ADVENTURES...I really had no idea of what was to come!

Frame Park

We are so blessed to live so close to such a great park.  The kids love the play area and I enjoy taking them for a walk around the river.  How could I forget the train tracks that go right by the play area!  Anytime I say we are going to Frame Park Caleb asks if that is the park the trains go by.

Caleb can't keep his hands off his little brother

Chillin' with momma

Joshua loves going down the slide with Caleb

Cutie boy loves to swing

Here we go!

Caleb loves to ask many questions as we walk around the river

The boys have their snacks, ready to walk
Whew...that was a tiring walk!

First Zoo trip of 2012

My poor little Joshua wasn't feeling well and it was a nice day out so I decided to pick up Grandma Karen and head to the ZOO for the morning.  It was the perfect day for strolling around the ZOO.

First we stopped in the barn to check out the cows.  Caleb gave grandma a ride on the tractor.

Caleb was really into the animals this trip.

Our first time seeing the lion cubs at the ZOO.  They were a bit lazy.

Caleb and his monkey buddy.

Joshua hung out in the stroller the majority of the trip just enjoying the scenery.

The penguins were enjoying the nice weather too!

We enjoyed lunch outside and then took off for home.
Both boys were tuckered out and ready for a nap.

Who is the biggest of them all?

One of my favorite things to do is compare and contrast my boys.  They are similar in some ways and unique in others.  Here is how they compare to one another at age one.

Here is our Casey boy!  I think Joshua resembles him quite a bit.
Weight: 23 lbs 15 oz
Height: 31 inches

 Here is our peanut Caleb...
Weight: 20 lbs
Height: 30 inches

Last, but certainly not least, the winner....Joshua
Weight: 24 lb 1 oz
Height: 32 inches

Gotta love the scraped up nose...it comes with this stage of life
He loves to eat...

My baby is growing up...

It is hard to believe that our baby boy is one already. It seems like only yesterday I was looking into his eyes for the very first time. Each day Joshua finds new ways to amaze and amuse me.

Each morning when I go to get him he is standing in his crib hollering for me to come and get him out of that crib. From the moment he wakes up he is on the go. It amazes me how fast he can move, and all he does is crawl! We are trying to teach him to walk but he gets so excited and tries to move so fast that he falls. We joke that he is going to skip walking and go right to running.

Joshua loves to explore. He loves to play in the dishwasher and refrigerator. If he can get into a drawer or cabinet he will make a complete mess. If his big brother's are trying to build something such as a lego tower or train tracks he will destruct it. HE IS INTO EVERYTHING!

Mealtime is one of his favorite times. When Joshua enjoys what I place on his tray he will shove it in with both hands. When he doesn't like something or is full, the food ends up on the floor. He is also very vocal about letting us know when he is done.

Bathtime is another favorite time for Joshua. Although he enjoys having all the toys and tub to himself, he is entertained by Caleb when they share the tub.

Joshua's personlaity amuses me. When he is not happy he has a little bit if a temper tantrum. When he is happy it is contagious.  I love listening to his stories when he babbles in his own little language.

One of my favorite things to do with Joshua when we cuddle in the chair and read books together. This is one of the only times I can get him to slow down and sit on my lap for a bit.

I can't imagine our family without him.  We love our Joshie!

Happy Birthday Joshua

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY BOY!
Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate his special day.
