Grand Prix Winner!

Casey participated in his second Grand Prix race through our Awana program at church.  Matt and Casey got some pointers from a friend on how to make this year's car super speedy.  Casey picked the colors and helped with the design.  Here is the finished product!

After each child's car raced 4 times on a 4-lane track against different cars they had a race off between the top 4 cars.  Casey's car was one of the 4.  It was so fun to watch these cars go head to head 8 different times.  It was amazing how close each race was.
When all the heats were finished this is how Casey finished!  Notice how close this race was.  There was less than a second between the 1st and 4th place winner!

Here is Casey with his trophy!

Here he is with some of his best buds.

What a fun program for the kids to participate in.  Casey was so excited to get a trophy and take part in such a fun event.  Thanks to all the adults who work hard to put this on for the kids.

Easter

We started off the Easter weekend with an Easter Egg hunt and candy drop at our church.  The preschool aged kids learn the story of Easter using jelly beans while the Elementary age kids learn through the Resurrection eggs.  After hearing the true meaning of Easter, the kids head outside where they get to watch a helicopter drop candy.  Once it is safe they get the go ahead to fill their bags with candy.  This is our 3rd or 4th year attending this fun event.  This year it was even more fun because the boys had their cousins join them
Caleb and Joshua are taking it all in.
.

Hannah and Casey are ready to get the party started.

Lucy was on an important call...

Let's not forget my favorite twins, Riley and Hailey were ready for some fun too!

It is really fun, even for us adults, to watch a helicopter drop buckets of candy from the sky!

Here is Casey and his buddy Eli waiting for the go ahead to fill up their bags.
On Easter Sunday we attended church and then headed over the the Reed's house for some Easter fun. We had an awesome meal, ate lots of junk food, and went on an Easter egg hunt.
This is one of those times where it is killing me not to show her cute little face, but the ruffle butt will have to do!

My cute little men
Kid's table!

Riley found all her purple eggs
Joshua found his green eggs, after having to put back many of the other kid's eggs.  He didn't quite get the  rules.

Caleb was the last to find all his eggs, but he was a good sport.

Here they all are...crazy cousins.

They got to trade in the numbers inside their eggs for some prizes!

Can't pass up an opportunity to take a picture of these cute girls!

Joshua playing on the floor with my cousin Brandon.  Not really feeling like sharing with the poor kid.

You gotta love Brandon's hair!
Overall it was an awesome weekend celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with friends and family.  We are so blessed to have all of you!

March madness

At the beginning of March our baby turned 2 and princess came to stay with us.  March flew by, which was kind of nice because it was a chilly one!

I can say that my joyful Joshua has a passionate personality like his mommy.  What he hasn't realized yet is that my will is a bit stronger than his.  For now we are coming up with creative ways to teach him that his choices have consequences, both good and bad.  Whenever he is having a rough day I just try to picture this in my head:
Who couldn't love this cute little face?!

As for adding a princess to the house, that has been nothing but a blessing.  The boys LOVE having her in our home.  Every time Casey walks by her he plants a kiss on her head.  Caleb loves to hold her and thinks it is so funny when she grabs his hand.  Joshua likes to share his toys with her and enjoys lying by her when she is doing tummy time.  I feel like we are teaching the boys a lot about compassion and love.  She will always have a special place in our hearts, no matter what the outcome of the situation.

Now to the fun stuff...what we've been up to this month!

Casey finished his season of UPWARD basketball

We celebrated Matt's 34th birthday by taking all 4 kids for dinner at Chili's
(kids eat free on Tuesday nights)

Grandma Jill came to visit for a weekend and we crammed in a ton of fun!  We went to the Museum, dyed Easter eggs, went bowling and ate dinner at our favorite train restaurant, La Estacion.

When we were blessed to have a nice day we would get out and play.  Let me tell you, these 3 boys have some serious energy to burn.

Alright spring, we are ready for you!
