What a weekend!

I was blessed to be with friends and enjoy the speaking of Beth Moore this weekend up in Green Bay. Beth Moore is an amazing Christian author and speaker. I learned a lot about my hearts desires! Like always, I loved hanging with my girlfriends.
Alyssa and I may have missed our calling, what do you think?

Matt learned alot about canning salsa and pickles this weekend! He is so pumped about this. Ever since we bought our house 6 years ago he has wanted a garden so he could make his own salsa. The pickles were a bonus. Thanks cousin Wendy for teaching my man how to can!
Matt may have missed his calling too! Don't these look yummy? I can't wait to try them!

bicycle fun

Casey has absolutely fallen in love with riding his "big boy bike". All summer we have tried to convince him that it is really cool to ride a bike with training wheels. Like everything else...it happened on Casey's time, not ours. Now this is all he wants to do!

Baraboo Hills

Today is the first day home after our 5 day adventure in Wisconsin Dells. We stayed at a private campground in Baraboo called Baraboo Hills. Since we were staying for 4 nights we decided to rent a little cabin. It had beds and a bathroom so it was good enough.

We started off our trip on Friday with a stop at Devil's Lake state park to catch some rays at the beach. Casey and Caleb both really enjoyed playing in the water and the sand.

Friday night we spent some time swimming in the pool to cool off after unpacking. Then it was off to the LUAU for some fun.

The weather was gorgeous again on Saturday so we decided to take my sister's family to Devil's lake for some more water fun. Besides swimming and playing in the sand, the big kids enjoyed a short hike with their dads.

Saturday night at the campground they had all kinds of fun activities to participate in. We took part in the wagon ride around the park. Afterward the girls enjoyed the ice cream social.

Sunday and Monday the weather wasn't the greatest so we had to get creative. We spent some time at the McDonald's Play land to burn off some energy. Casey and Hannah got the opportunity to fish in the pond a couple of times as well. They caught some big ones!

What's a vacation without the food? We ate so much this weekend...

chocolate donuts

Campfire stew

I think we were waiting for the brats on this night
Watermelon for the little guy

When we got the chance to enjoy the pool we had a great time. The big kids all had vests that enabled them to jump in and swim on their own. It was a lot of fun to watch them swim around like little fish.

Here they are relaxing and watching a movie after pudgy pies on Monday night.

On Tuesday we spent the day at Riverview Park and Waterworld. They had WI days where you could get in for $5 if you were a resident...one of my best deals yet! We had a blast riding on rides and playing in the water. Casey even went on an enclosed water slide with daddy.

six years

On Saturday, August 1st Matt and I had the pleasure of celebrating 6 years of wedded bliss. Don't get me wrong, we have been through some really hard things together in that time. The key word in that sentence is "together". No matter what happens, we always get through things together.

To celebrate we were blessed to have the entire weekend away at one of our favorite state parks, Devil's Lake. Matt's parents were in town and took care of the boys for us. I think they may have had as much fun as us!

We spent the majority of the time relaxing and hiking. We caught up on some sleep and got ourselves a good tan. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful weekend.

Here's my stud muffin...what a gorgeous view

Here I am relaxing at our oh so private campsite

Matt and I keep an anniversary journal and every year on our anniversary we record our favorite memories, a review of the year, trials and things we learned about one another. Looking back on this year we were blessed to have added another child into our family and gotten through the year with no major trials! Yeah God!!!

Happy anniversary to the best husband a girl could ask for. I love you Matthew Thomas!!!
