Two year old funny comments

Here are my top 5 funny comments that Casey has made in the past couple of weeks:

1. Today as I was changing his diaper he says, "it's a pancake poop, not chicken nuggets" (Matt calls little poop nuggets...Casey calls them chicken nuggets I guess)

2. When I told Casey to behave for grandma while mommy and daddy go out to eat he asked if we were going to McDonald's

3. When Casey was asked how old he was he said big brother

4. When we were playing Candyland he would pick the card and get really excited and say, "oh, look what I got!" as if he were opening a gift

5. While independently playing with his train he told it that it had 5 minutes until nap time....wonder where he heard that one!

Big boys

Well Caleb seems to be following in his brothers footsteps. He just keeps growing! His face has filled out and he has the cutest little chunks for legs. The thing that surprises me the most is how long he is. He reminds us very much of Casey at his age. Only time will tell!



A couple of new things to report on the big brother as well. After he got back from his camping trip with daddy he decided that he liked sleeping under a blanket. So we pulled out his Thomas the train blanket and pillow that he got for Christmas from Uncle Nikki (it's really aunt but he says uncle) and he thinks he is big stuff. He also has started to play board games with us. Candy Land and Memory are our favorites. It amazes me how much he has grown up lately. Another new thing he likes to do is ask us a lot of questions. His favorite is "whatcha doing".

The boys

Both boys are growing and changing so much everyday. Caleb had a check up on Monday and already weighs over 10 pounds! Casey is so tall that when I pick him up his feet touch my knees!

Casey will be going to preschool one morning a week starting in September. I think he is going to have a blast. They have a playground and a gym. He will have music, center time, snack and free time. If it goes well we may have him go 2 mornings a week in the future.

Caleb has started to smile and coo a little bit here and there. He really enjoys looking at daddy and watching Casey run around. Casey enjoys lying on the floor next to Caleb and rubbing his head. I am so excited to see how they interact as Caleb grows!

Caleb is 1 month old!

It is hard to believe that it has been a month since Caleb was born! Time goes by so quickly when you have two little ones. As you can see from the pictures, Caleb is losing his hair and we think his eyes may be changing color as well. We may have yet another blond haired blue eyed boy. He is eating great and growing fast. Before you know it he'll be a walkin' talkin' machine just like his big brother.


Speaking of the big brother...he is doing pretty good too. He turned 2 1/2 at the end of July and appears to be getting bigger too. I don't know if it is just because I am holding Caleb so much, but every time I hug Casey I can't believe how big he has gotten! Not to mention funny. His new thing is speaking in his own funny language and then busting up. We have no clue what is so funny, but he sure does.

My funny 2 year old story for the day...
Last night we had the Olympics on and Walsh and May were playing Volleyball. Casey said "It's mommy"(Walsh). I was so flattered that he thought I was tall (I think she is 6 foot 2) and skinny. Then in a shocking sort of voice he explained "she's naked!". I let him know that she was wearing a swimsuit and playing beach volleyball. It made me laugh to think that he thought I was playing volleyball naked on our television!

Funny Story

Tonight we were invited over to our friends' house for a barbecue. Neal and Christal have a son named Matthew who is a couple of years older than Casey. Casey was very excited to play with a "big" boy and Matthew was pretty excited to have a playmate too. While we were eating dinner Matthew and Casey were playing nicely upstairs (here's where it starts to get funny). Matthew came down and grabbed my hand but wouldn't say anything. I started to get a bit nervous as he was dragging me up the stairs. I asked him if Casey was alright and he replied yes, but he went poopy, and I tried to change him. Right away I imagined poop all over the place. When I got up to the bathroom there was Casey laying on the bathroom floor with his diaper off waiting patiently for Matthew to finish. Matthew had put the poop in the potty (we aren't sure how) and then realized that he didn't have a clean diaper to put on Casey. I asked him how this happened and he said that Casey smelled so he looked in his diaper and saw "brown stuff" and decided he should change him. I don't think I have ever laughed that hard in my life! Later that night Matthew showed Casey how big boys poop on the potty.

The best part of this story is that we can so see Casey doing that with Caleb in a couple of years!

What's new with us

On August 1st Matt and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary! We can't believe how fast the time has flown by. We left Casey and Caleb with Grandma Jill and Auntie Nikki and went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. It was fun to get away for a couple of hours and spend time talking about fun memories and why our relationship is so awesome:) I really couldn't have asked for a better husband to share my life with, he is the best!

On Saturday we spent the day at Matt's family's annual Olympics games. This year our family of four represented the United States of America. Casey and Caleb slept through most of the games but as you can see from the pictures below...dad and mom were having a great time! Basically each family brings a game for the competition and food from their country. In the picture below I was about to participate in the German game that Matt's parents and his sister came up with. After each game medals were presented. We medaled in every game...GO BUNTROCKS!


Casey and Caleb are both doing great. In fact, Matt's mom has gone back to Vegas and the boys and I are on our own. Today I took them for a walk and we spent an hour at the park. I sat on the bench watching Casey in amazement. He has come such a long way from even a few months ago. He was playing nicely with the other children and listening to me when I was asking him not to do certain things (like jump off the top of the jungle gym for example). It was fun to watch him interact with other kids and have such a great time. We truley feel that becoming a big brother has been one of the best things that has happened to him. Casey is a great big brother and is adjusting so well. We are very blessed to have two beautiful, healthy, happy boys!
