Dirty Girl Mud Run 2012

This past fall a bunch of girls decided that it would be fun to try and keep up with our crazy husbands by signing up for an adventurous event like the Dirty Girl mud run.  Since signing up in fall,  about half of the ladies had to drop out due to pregnancies (likely excuse!)  After selling some slots and inviting new friends we ended up with a team of 11 women!

The race was a 5K that included a ton of obstacles.  Most of the obstacles involved crawling through mud.  We jumped through tires, climbed over things, crawled under and through things and in between we jogged!

Friday night at Banting Park

It was date night for the Reeds last night.  While they enjoyed dinner and Friday night live downtown Waukesha, we had fun at the park across the street!  The kids get just as excited as we do about date nights...it is funny to hear them say, "YES, date night!"

Milwaukee Airshow 2012!

Our annual adventure at the Milwaukee airshow was a blast as usual!  This year we were blessed to have the company of several friends.  The kids enjoyed the sand, water and planes!  The adults had a great time as well!  One of our families favorite summer activities by far, and its free!

Pontoon Ride on Pewaukee Lake

I don't know how many of you get groupon deals in your email everyday...but I love them!  We save lots of money on restaurants, kids places, and even boat rides!

My sister Leah also is a fan of the groupon deals as well.  We both got the groupon email deal to rent a pontoon boat on Pewaukee lake for 3 hours and decided to split the cost and do it!  It was so worth it, the kids and adults had a great time.  Don't get me wrong...7 kids under the age of 7 on a boat is a bit stressful...but we all made it back safe!

9 Year Anniversary Weekend

Matt and I said our wedding vows in front of God, family and friends on August 1, 2003.  

 Each year we take time to do something special to celebrate our marriage.  This year we went camping at Governor Dodge State Park.  We left the boys at home with Matt's parents and enjoyed some much needed quality time together.  

It is such a different experience going camping without children!  We had the time to make fun meals, read books, go on long hikes, float on the lake and sleep in.  The weather was good for the most part.  When it did rain it didn't matter much to us.  We used the time to read and take a nap! 

One thing we did a lot of on this camping trip was geocaching.  Geocaching is a free real-world outdoor treasure hunt.  Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using a smartphone or GPS and can then share their experience online.  We were able to find 9 caches on our trip.

Besides hiking all over the park to find geocaches we did take some time to relax and do other fun things as well.
