Family visit and adventures

Last week aunt Sally and cousin Emily were in visiting from Florida. They were here to celebrate Grandpa Bill's 80th birthday. We got a babysitter and enjoyed a celebration dinner at Bravo. Casey and I also had the opportunity to hang out with them on Thursday and Friday. Casey loved cousin Emily and all of the attention she gave him:) We also spent some time with Grandma Karen, Auntie Leah, and the girls.

Friday night we had some friends from our Sunday school class over for a grill out. The rain took a break so we were able to hang out and enjoy the weather a bit. The kids had a great time playing on the swing set and having a water fight with ketchup and mustard bottles! Casey was a bit of an introvert that night so you won't see him in the pictures. He had a full day with family and then skipped nap due to tornado sirens...lovely!

Saturday night Matt and I were able to escape for a mini getaway before the baby arrives in a month. My mom not only took Casey for the night so we could get away...she gave us a hotel gift certificate that she had won at a work Christmas party! We also had a dinner gift certificate to Mr. B's steakhouse from Matt's basketball team that he had coached for our church Upwards program. Let me tell you, there is something about a free getaway and dinner! Despite the horrible storm and tornado watch we managed to have a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The bed was so comfortable that Matt slept close to 12 hours! Casey and Grandma had there own adventures during the storm. They were in a cement tunnel at Mayfair Mall taking shelter from the tornado and storm for one hour. They also enjoyed playing at Barnes and Noble and eating Burger King chicken nuggets for dinner. I'm not sure if that compares to the steak dinners we had!
